Armani Advert Analysis

The Armani Advert is in black and white, this is because it adds an element of class to the ad, if it was in color it would be completely different as you would be able to see the imperfections in there skin and the different colors and then they wouldn't be the typical *Perfect People* that we see them as today, the black and white image adds a level of sophistication, so the black and white is the signifier and the signified is the way it gives a level of sophistication and class.

The Beckham's (the stars of the ad) are worldwide famous, a member of the spice girls, marries a world renowned footballer, they are a signifier of a perfect couple, the football aspect of David or top singer and model Victoria, and the signified are things like a healthy marriage, the perfect couple and an intake into the celebrity lifestyle.

The picture that was taken looks like a candid image, this means there was no pose and was taken completely off guard, they look relaxed and chilled and this signifier that they can trust each other, it also looks like that Victoria is guarding David, meaning that she is treating him like a king, also a signifier of a strong relationship.

There is a shadow cast from Victoria onto David, this signifier that when they were getting married, David was just a small club football player marrying a global pop star, this was all over the news and only because of Victoria was David able to become so globally wide known.

Now onto the actual advert, the Beckham's are wearing top of the range Armani underwear, it is signifying that if these rich and famous superstars are wearing these, then you should too, it is sort of like an elite club, so if you buy these you are like a high member in society.

David, is above Victoria on the bed, this is because of Victoria, as before their marriage everyone knew who she was because of the spice girls and her modeling, but after there marriage David rose in his football career and in society as multiple modeling agencies would hire him and know he is more well known than her he has played for some of the most well known clubs across the country.

In conclusion the advert portrays many themes some more present than others, it is a great example how media can come across on just a simple advert.
