George Millers all knew supped up version of Mad Max is what it says on the tin. Fury Road is precisely the story of this film. a film that features hardly any cgi is one of those most practical man made stunt filled joy rides ever.
Mel Gibson the man who became to mad to play the title character himself has been replaced by Tom Hardy who in this film is very much a man of few words as his character who is haunted by the child he couldn't save. however Tom Hardy isn't in this by himself. he's joined by academy award winner Charlize Theron as the one armed truck driving heroine who is on a mission and had demons of her own. George Miller also brings back Mad Max legend in the eyes of Hugh Keays-Byrne as the sinister Imortan Joe who controls everything in the wasteland. Imortan Joe has most of the people at his mercy as due to the severe lack of water around the post nuclear scorched lands; he is the only man in the wasteland who has an unlimited water supply.
undoubtedly the most over the top car film made ever this makes the car action is the Fast and Furious series look like a child's homemade toy game. from the huge monster trucks to the man who seemingly manages to play the guitar through the whole film Mad Max Fury Road will leave you sitting there either in jaw dropping awe or just straight up confusion from the lack of basic character logic in the film.
The whole chase of the film begins when Furiosa makes the decision to turn left. the most violent crime in all the wasteland. From this point onwards we're treated to a two hour chase following Furiosa accompanied by Max and Imortan Joes Breeder while wives being hunted down by a Imortan Joe himself however this all changes when they decide to go back the way they came after enduring lots of pain and suffering that resulted in death of lots of different characters, most notably Angharad who was being portrayed by Rosie Huntington-Whitely; most known for her work as Rosie in Michael Bay's Transformers Dark of the Moon. This in all honesty was brave decision however it was also a decision that left many audiences and myself included saying 'why.' Choosing to turn the film on its head by doing this was a very brave one indeed as many people and critics would call it lazy and very weak to do this. Aside from the a final act that doesn't really live up to the gut wrenching action and a plot that some would say was weak; Mad Max Fury Road completely revitalised the franchise and brought it into the 21st century. A masterpiece in its own right picking up 5 academy awards it completely dominated the Oscars and picked countless others. No pressure George Miller with the next three instalments of the franchise
