Clueless film review.
Rating: ****

Clueless is a smart and funny movie directed by Amy Heckerling. Cher portrayed by the teen phenomenon Alicia Silverstone and her best friend Dionne (Stacey Dash) are both named after singers from the past who come up with one liners such as 'we both know what it is like to have people be jealous of us.'

A typical, cliche high school rom-com, clueless tells the story of a privileged, Californian teen who is trying to inspire those around her one make over at a time. One make over in particular is the beloved Brittany Murphy portraying the character of Ty, a pitiful lost cause in Cher's eyes. Daddy's girl Cher learns the difficulties first-hand of what it's like to change a hipster to become a rich kid of Beverly Hills just like Cher.

The plot introduces Ty as a helpless newbie and Cher makes it her mission to make her her 'mini me'. Guiding her from Ty's ideal man Travis portrayed excellently by Breckin Meyer, to the most popular boy in the school Elton (Jeremy Sisto). Cher reaches to the extent of being held at gun point to ensure Ty reaches her full potential as being the most popular girl at the school but Cher is oblivious to the fact that her help would mean Cher's clone becoming more loved than her.

Whilst Cher is working on the 'Ty project' she is also working on herself be it failing her driving test dramatically or messing up her father's successful accounting business. Here, though, she bonds with her geeky step-brother Josh played by the famous Paul Rudd. It is not until the end of the film that she realises who she really loves. Is it Elton, Josh or new to the school Christian (Justin Walker). Christian? if Cher was a boy it would be Christian. Infatuated by his outstanding taste in fashion, his remarkable charisma and his gorgeous looks, Cher adopts a new project just to keep Christian; whether it be sending herself flowers, chocolates or inviting him to her mansion only for it to turn out as a disaster, Cher realises that her control she once has is slowly slipping away. Within days boys no longer notice her, they notice Ty.
