Nerve, the teen thriller from the directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman offers a wonderful sense of mystery. It centres on a very addictive game that takes over the lives of people who choose to be "players" rather than "watchers" with Vee aka Venus being one one of them, she is played by the remarkable acress Emma roberts. Vee is seen as unadventurous and dull compared to her best friend Sydney (Emily Meade.) After Sydney accuses her of being boring, Vee signs up to become a player of nerve.
Vee can't believe her eyes when she sees that she has $100 sitting in her bank account just for kissing a random stranger in a diner however she soon discovers this so called stranger is actually another player called Ian (played by Dave Franco- best known for Bad Neighbours) who's been purposely sent there to form a nerve couple. The watchers tend to like what they see instantly when the two joined lips for the unexpected and heated kiss the two shared. The dares the couple face become more dangerous as the night goes on, this is surprising for Vee because she was always seen as the not so fun one. She even surprises herself when she finds she is sitting on the back of a motor bike while Ian is driving, blindfolded and afraid.
it is adrenalised, heart racing and a good thriller to sink your teeth in to, everything seems to get a little out of hand and Vee becomes confused, was her time spent with Ian all a sham? Or does he genuinely care for Vee? Will this little romance last? Or is it all just an act for the watchers? Everything is possible when it comes to nerve.
