Pearl Harbor

The films immense cast and crew; headed by director Michael Bay and stars Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett and Kate Beckinsale. All these actors together create an amazing blockbuster that has passion and tremendous action. Apart from this it also gives an intense perspective of what happened on that fateful day and the aftermath.

This film was a risky one to make as they had to go about presenting Pearl Harbor in a respectful way and it had a lot to live up to in terms of expectations and in my opinion i thought it was brilliant and lived up to my expectations.

Story-wise best pals Affleck and Hartnett row over the affections of Kate Beckinsale, after she accidentally sleeps with Hartnett when her lover, Affleck, has supposed to have been shot down in Europe. Although some parts are rather soppy you cant help but fall for the characters and want the best for them. Apart from anything else it is visually stunning and even if the storyline is not particularly your kind of thing then the visual effects alone should have you hooked. The extent they go to for these visuals are extraordinary for example they blow up real ships and use real planes.

Although this film has received some harsh reviews from critics i still think that this film is an absolute classic and i think the critics aren't giving credit were credits due and do not take note and recognise the effort that has been put into the film. Overall this films made me cry, laugh...cry some more but above all that it genuinely moved me. I love this film and cannot wait to watch it again as in my opinion it really is timeless.
