Artist- passenger
Song- when we where young
Genre- folk/ country
Visual style/muse-en-scene-
Throughout the video the camera is constantly in and out of focus when looking at the pictures and looking though the memory book to show that the memories are blurred to them because it was so long ago. During each individual shot there is always a focus point wether it be the artist it's self or a photograph or a person and there is always clarity on this point and the rest of the area out of focus to ensure that the audiences attention is focused on one specific thing or person. The pace of the song has also been edited so that it is slightly faster than the video to create a slow motion effect. The use of the filter black and white is used to present the past and how times have changed. A variety of shots including close ups have been used on the older people as it is highlighting the mixed emotions people feel when looking back on different memories. Older people have been used deliberately to allow the sepia pictures to be used and almost re create a certain period in time.
Narrative-
The story is being told through he lyrics of the song and is being supported by the visuals to successful address to the audience that memories are bitter sweet and it's important for people to look back on their lives and reflect on the good and bad times to remember the experiences that shape us as people. ‘Remember when we where young’ is a direct link to the story and tells us that the video is clearly people getting together remembering their past.
Conventional/unconventional-
conventional-
. The use of old people reminiscing on their past

what works well/doesn't
Well-
The use of videos and picture to connect people with their past and the idea that talking about our past brings people back together.
Doesn't-
