Music Video Research (OutKast - Hey Ya!)

Artist: OutKast
Song: Hey Ya!
Camera/Editing:
The video itself is of the band (albeit, the entire band is the lead rapper of the group Andre-3000) performing to what is supposed to be a live audience also being televised. The televised view of the performance is in the filter known as sepia, giving the feeling of it being historic as it isn't in colour, this being further emphasised by the announcer, announcing the band. Meanwhile our other camera shows the performance as it is, all in colour, mainly green, giving us less of a static camera pan, giving the audience the minuet details rather than a general view.
Narrative:
No real story at all since it is a live performance and it mainly focuses on themselves with occasional pans to the crowd of crazed fans. Although it isn't exactly a band since every band member is Andre. Only narrative aspects we get are the crowd; the fan fainting, the crazed fan, the fan shaking the polaroid picture, we get miniature stories about secondary characters.
Conventional/Unconventional:
It has a conventional aspect to it as it the basic premise of a live performance, it being televised gives it a classic feel to it, this is mainly because of during era's like the 1960's and even suggested now, live performances are done in a small set and televised, the classic feel is shown by using the sepia filter on the static camera which shows them all in a warm colour. However, it still can be considered unconventional since most rap artists aren't a band, never mind a band of themselves, rather individual artists. Furthermore, it being himself could suggest how high is self-esteem is as he may feel that he does all the work for the pair of them ("Andre 3000" and "Big Boi") even being announced as different people suggests that he has multiple personas to cover up as the band.
What works/What doesn't:
The general concept of the live performance, although basic I feel it fits perfectly with the song as it kind of shows off the producers through Andre's characters. Also it's abstract for a rap video which I consider it a bonus.
