Magazine Cover analysis

Masthead

The masthead is in a bold font and it is also in capitals ,this boldness gives it a very bland and simple look. This is representative to how this magazine is meant to be. The magazine is meant to be easy to read and doesn't take any effort to do so which why this masthead is so fitting, you are not looking for any deeper meanings/connotations in this. The colour of it is red and white which stereotypically a boys colour which is what the magazines target audience is, young boys. It is also the colours of some of the most popular and most successful clubs in football such as Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Main image:

The main image is a picture of the now former Liverpool striker , Luis Suarez. During the 2013-14 season he was the top goalscorer in the premier league and was also the best player in the league at that moment in time, he was also considered the best striker in Europe. This is why they decided to use this player, he is a very well known and for some children will be an inspiration to them so if they see him they will want to buy the magazine. behind the main image they put a blue background, he is in a red kit which will make him stand out more from the rest of the images.

Layout and Mise-en-scene

The layout of the cover is quite congested with a lot of pictures and bold text which makes it quite lively as it is partnered with a lot of bright colours, this would make it quite appealing to a young boy as it is very eye-catching.
