Media Diary week 5
Mean Girls
A media text I have consumed is Mean Girls. This is a chick flick film about 3 girls who are called 'the plastics' who gain a new member to their social group. This is a form of escapism because teenage girls can relate to the humour inside the text which makes it so entertaining. Although it is completely made up, we can escape into our thoughts that in fact this film has got some reality as we try and work out who our own group of 'plastics' are in high school and also how cruel other girls can actually be. It is a humorous film in the sense that there is a variety of character's such as the dumb blonde and the geeks. Nearly every teenage girl has seen this film and is able to quote the lines from the film an relate it to their everyday lives.
Never Say Never: Justin Bieber film
Never Say
Never is a film which is about the world famous singer Justin Bieber, whilst
this is a documentary on his life, actually when watching the film it
doesn't feel like you are watching a documentary. It allows you to escape into
the world of a celebrity and see his life play out in front of your eyes.
When I went to see this in the pictures they had it on in 3D and there is
parts in the movie where it is actually like Justin Bieber and Ryan Good are
speaking directly to you. As well as that it featured some of his concerts, but
whilst watching in 3D it felt as if you was front row at his concert. It is
easy to socially interact about this film, however the people who you would
discuss this with would mainly be fans. You can talk about this on twitter if
none of your friends have seen or particularity like Justin Bieber
