Pirates Of The Caribbean:
The Curse Of The Black Pearl

During the past week I have recently been watching 'Pirates Of The Caribbean - The Curse Of The Black Pearl.' This an American fantasy swashbuckler film based on the Pirates Of The Caribbean ride at DisneyWorld, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer & directed by Gore Verbinski. The story follows pirate Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and blacksmith Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) as they rescue the kidnapped Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) from the cursed crew of the Black Pearl, captained by Hector Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush). The world premiere was held at DisneyWorld resort, in California on June 28th 2003.

The film received positive reviews from the critics and was an unexpected success, grossing over $654 million worldwide. Johnny Depp's character, Captain Jack Sparrow, was universally praised, winning him a numerous amount of awards. The Curse Of The Black Pearl was also nominated for four other Academy Awards and BAFTAs.

I personally enjoy watching the film, I find it very interesting & mystical. You never know what is about to happen. I think the film targets anyone of any age, unless the children are afraid of some of the creatures. It is full of action & for all the family. I believe that the Mainstreamer, and possibly the Aspirer would also be interested in the film. As they both follow the majority of what other people like and do. However in saying this I also think perhaps the Explorer would be intrigued by the film, as it does differ from others. It's not everyday in the film world that we have seen pirates being brought back to life, this is the first realistic film to create such a thing. I would most definitely give the film a star rating of 5/5 & would recommend it to anyone.
