'The Apprentice' is a show about Lord Alan Sugar who holds a competition to determine who will be his next apprentice. Firstly the show is entertainment/escapism , it is aired during the middle of the week during a time when people are in the middle of a college/work week and the show acts as an escape from your life of work to watch a entertaining competition of people working for the chance to work with Alan Sugar. Lord Sugar is also entertaining as sometimes when he belittles the stupidity of a contestant it is hilarious. The show could also be used for social interaction as it has become a very popular show that people can talk about to friends/colleagues. Finally some may use the show for personal interaction as they aspire to be in the world of business.
