Look Magazine: Background/Context

Publishers
Henry Luce and Briton Hadden in New York founded Time Inc in 1922. They publish magazines like Sports Illustrated, Life and Entertainment Weekly. In 1990 they merged with Warner Communications to form Time Warner, this lasted until June 9, 2014 when the company was spun off.

IPC was founded in 1968. Over the years it has had multiple names and merged with a variety of other publishers. In September 2014 IPC Media formally became Time Inc. UK, creating a single Time Inc. brand in both the US and UK.

Overlook
Look Magazine was launched in February 2007. It is a weekly high street fashion magazine for women. Look.co.uk was launched in 2008. It showcases high street fashion, beauty and celebrity style news. Look magazine offers fashion, shopping and beauty advice for the average woman, as well as celebrity gossip. The magazine also brings news coverage of well-known people in the media. It also uses models with more average sized bodies to show off fashion.
