Miley Cyrus - Hannah Montana
In this poster Miley is represented as a Disney Channel charachter named 'Hannah Montana'. Hannah's appearance is very girly with blonde curly hair with natural makeup and sparkly top. The logo in the bottom left corner is reinforced to represent this is an advert for Disney Channel as she is one of the popular charachters on one their shows. The way she is represented is supposed to look like young children who watch 'Hannah Montana World' programme are to look up to her. The background of the ad has alot of pink making it say that this is more of a girls programme to watch. Miley's smile connotates fun and laughter which suggests what you will be getting from the programme.
The name of the show stands out alot making it obvious to the audience that the show is on the Disney Channel. Miley is shot in a medium close-up, showing us from the shoulders up. The selection of using this photo and the reason for using a close-up connotates that she has something to hide, which she does in the programme. Hannah is hiding her true self and she is a singer named Hannah but her real life her name is Miley.
The way that the encoders used alot of pink is a typical girls favourite colour making it out she is just a normal girl like everyone else. The preferred reading is that Miley is a great actress just as much a singer, and she should be respected as she is just a normal girl trying to live a normal life in the celebrity world. I would say that this is more of an ad to make the public watch her show and use colours and Miley to represent the target audience as girls aged 5 to 12. As most young girls this age would look up to her as she is a singer and thats what most girls want to be at this age.
