Media Week 3

I am going to explain the audience of the X Factor. I assume the typical audience member of the X factor is lower middle class and below, this is because those who are considered the mainstream are mainly in those in that class. As I said previously I believe that those that watch the X Factor are from the mainstream, this is because the mainstream is the largest group in society and the X Factor intends of reaching out to as many people as possible. I believe that those that watch the X factor are roughly between the ages of 16 and 40, this is because the majority of ways they advertise is by using social media networks such as twitter and these social media websites are typically aimed towards these age group. It can also appeal to those over the age of 25 as there is a group with contestants of that age in the finals. They are either male or female as the show caters to both genders; this is shown through the boys and girls groups during the final. Those that watch the X Factor are most likely groupies, this is because the X factor is a popular show and therefore by watching it they can keep up to date and discuss it with those around them. Cynics would also watch this show as they would be able to complain about either the judges choices or the quality of the performance.
