Masthead
The magazine's masthead is an important part of the creation of certain ideologies that this magazine supports and holds. This magazine is quite evidently a magazine for people who aim to become or keep 'FIT'. The name of the magazine connotes to the ideology of everyone needing to stay fit. This masthead really suits the current trend of the third world countries as the people within them are getting ever more concerned with their health and therefore this would appeal to them. The fact that the word 'ultra' is sneaked in to the 'F' in the masthead suggests that there is a difference with being very fit and just fir. This may imply also that it is a very small difference between the two stages of 'fit'. There is no strap-line to the masthead which could illustrate that fitness is very simple to achieve, or it's just a very simple concept that needs no explanation.
Main Image
The main image features a man and a woman posing in what looks like gym uniform. Their clothing is a key part to this magazine's ideology as it suggests that people who are fir, should not be afraid to expose their bodies to the public. There is a certain sex appeal with this too as the man is shown to be very muscly and well toned and the girl is no exception too a she has a nice figure and is overall attractive and young. Also the clothing that they to wear is rather revealing; the man is only wearing shorts and the woman is wearing extremely short shorts and a top that only covers the chest. These features add to the sexual appeal of the magazine as the models are desired almost by the audience (of males and females). The two models are smiling to suggest that keeping fit isn't just something for the body, it also affects your mental state and life happiness. The people on the main image are making direct eye contact with the audience which forces us to identify with them.
