FourFourTwo Magazine Analysis

FourFourTwo is a football magazine.  This magazine was published in April 2014 .

1. The masthead is "FourFourTwo" which is a connotation for perhaps the most known football formation "4-4-2". The font is very bold, red coloured and covers half the page. Due to the masthead being a formation which is a tactic in football. This could imply that it's implied audience is more grown up football fans who are interested in the tactical side of the game and what happens behind the scenes rather than just the visual spectacle. The strap line "exclusive Suarez unleashed! Liverpool's new God sets the record straight" could be used as a play on. The part of the strap line which could be seen as a play on is "Suarez unleashed!". Normally, when something has been unleashed, it normally refers to an animal. This could have been used as a reference to the fact he'd bitten 2 players at the time (now being 3) in PSV's Otman Bakkal and Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic which seen him get a combined 17 matches (a further 4 months for his 3rd incident).

The main image of the magazine is then Liverpool forward and Uruguayan International Luis Suarez. Suarez is without a doubt one of the most if not most hated footballers in the world, you either love him or hate him. So, with people either loving him or hating him, the magazine is almost guaranteed to generate some sort of reaction good or bad.
