Radiohead - Just (Conventional/Unconventional)
Conventional/Unconventional
Conventional - Artist performing within the same location as the narrative began. This is conventional as it seamlessly blends the two together; the narrative and the performance go hand in hand.
Conventional - The artist becomes involved in the narrative, even if it is only the singer looking at the events voyeuristically from the same location. This is conventional as, once again, it merges the band in with the story of the video.
Unconventional - Use of subtitles to explain the conversation that is happening within the narrative; this is unconventional as conversation is a deeper form of narrative, one that is usually not addressed within a music video as it typically uses diegetic sound.
Conventional - Strong ideologies being put forward within the narrative. In this example, the ideology is open to interpretation, but one widely accepted theory is that this video focuses on the idea of 'curiosity killed the cat', in that mindless curiosity can be self-destructive and detrimental.
