This advert starts by saying "hello cancer", this tells us that this advert is positive and that it is different to other adverts involving cancer. This advert introduces up-beat music, whereas other adverts use slow music to show the intensity of cancer. However, this advert uses a positive outlook by showing people who have been effected by cancer, insulting the disease. The people in the ad act as if cancer is a person by insulting it, this can pass onto the audience and they will support the charities cause. At the beginning of the advert we see a man who is suffering from cancer, and at the end of the advert we see him fully recovered, this tells the audience that the charity can help people who are effected by cancer. The advert also shows a X-Ray with two fingers put up, this can be seen as humorous by the viewers, this is not what is usually shown in a advert like this, therefor the audience will remember it and will have an incentive to donate. The viewers will also see the race for life taking place on the advert to provide information about it, hoping that the audience will be intrigued. There is no key narrative in this advert, there is no focus on one person and there stories. However, we do see a couple of people in the advert talking about how they have been affected by cancer.
The advertising techniques in this advert is that the advert differentiates itself from other adverts that are spreading awareness for such a serious cause. It also shows many different types of people throughout the advert to show that anyone can be affected by the disease, along with the fact that anyone can support the cause by helping the charity.
The ideologies in the advert are the fact that cancer can be beaten with the help of the audience. Also, even though cancer may be serious and is affecting many people, a key factor is to stay positive like the people shown in the advert.
