Media Diary Week 3

Fifa 17 is the latest installment of the Fifa franchise by EA Sports. The fact that Fifa has been going for the past 23 years without missing a single year clearly shows the longevity of the game and this years may just be the most realistic ever. The genre of Fifa is simply a sports game but more specific a football game.

The game can be targeted towards any audience as football is a universal thing, however if I had to suggest its target audience I would say it is working class and or upper working class. I believe this as football can be played by anyone so why can't the game? Furthermore, the game advertises towards the "typical" man, playing the game together with friends and in our advertisement case along with world class player.
The perfect example of Fifa's advertisement is Fifa 13.

The type of audience that people who play Fifa are entirely mainstream due to the fact that the game, can be suggested as an established part of our modern day society. They play their game on either of the main marketable consoles (Xbox or PlayStation) also the game has a large social aspect to it as you can either play the game with your friend sharing the same couch or play over the internet against each other. The game rarely adds any new features rather just enhancing the gameplay to ensure the game lasts the longevity until the next game comes along. The lifestyle categories the majority of Fifa's audience fall to are mainly groupies and or trendies, another suggestion could be traditionalists. People fall into these categories as people could be groupies as they want to be accepted by their friend group or general society this can coincide with trendies who buy the game to simply be apart of this society. I've also suggested traditionalists as I've previously mentioned the game doesn't change much further that these people want the game to remain the same so they can enjoy it as much as the last.
