Ideology

The ideology of the advert is simply to try and get rid of poverty in the world.

Visual style/characters

The advert is very bland and simple, it is in black and white but uses a group of popular and recognisable celebrities. It is very simple as they are just clicking their fingers which is quite intriguing, this is soon met with the harsh reality that each time they click a child is dying of poverty as we are told by the voice over. This is a use of shock tactics as it is very unexpected. There is no range in shot types which makes the advert very bland.

What works

The blandness of the advert is surprisingly quite affective, it is suggesting that there is no way to sugar-coat the fact that people are dying of poverty for "no reason" as it can be stopped. this is quite shocking to the audience which makes it really affective.
