Media Diary week 3

This week I have consumed the media text Pinterest.

Pinterest is a social networking site for those who are creative or wanting to share certain posts whether that be science or romance. The site allows people to share photos, upload and save 'pins' for future references. Pinterest lets us search from fashion tips to home improvement the website has a variety of categories to search through and explore.

This media text has the audience classification of the 'Explorer' and the 'Aspirer'. Pinterest fulfils the need of the Explorers need for difference and new ideas. The different categories carry new and interesting DIY projects and unique fashion styles that people may have never seen before, the Explorer drives for new frontiers and Pinterest provides this. The website helps to discover new objectives in life and new facts that we may never even of known and in this, attracts the Explorer.

Pinterest covers all aspects of life including success tips and how to be and look better for other people. The Aspirer seeks  appearance and fashion. Through out the website there are 'pins' that include articles on how to be slimmer or look prettier and having a better fashion sense. This fulfils the materialistic life of an Aspirer, the site drives and completes their need for status and style over substance.
